Freshmeat Release

Once you have successfully configured ReleaseForge for use with Freshmeat (via the Freshmeat Setup option in the Actions menu) you can then submit project news information to Freshmeat.

To access the Freshmeat Release dialog you simply select the SourceForge project on the main window. Then select Freshmeat Release on the Actions menu. If Freshmeat Release is not enabled that indicates that you have properly associated the selected SourceForge project with a Freshmeat project. If this is the case, you will need to (re)visit the Freshmeat Setup dialog.

Upon accessing the Freshmeat Release dialog you may be prompted for your Freshmeat login information. Once you have supplied this information, ReleaseForge will establish an xml-rpc connection to Freshmeat. If, during your ReleaseForge session your Freshmeat xml-rpc connection times out, ReleaseForge will attempt to re-establish the connection automatically (without requiring you to enter your login credentials again).

You will need to enter the requested data in order to publish your project news to Freshmeat.

Specify the version information

Specify the branch name

Specify the visibility of this announcement

Specify the release focus

Once you have completed these items, simply press the Ok button to publish your announcement.
